ASSESSMENT OF THE BIOACCUMULATION OF MICROPLASTICS IN THE BLACK SEA MUSSEL Mytilus galloprovincialis L., 1819

The accumulation of microplastics in the world oceans is one main global problems modern world. Black Sea source seafood for people from several countries, including Bulgaria. pollution sea a result various factors, especially anthropogenic. aim this study was to determine presence and mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis L., 1819, harvested different locations along northern Bulgarian coast. Within each microplastic morphological group, three size classes were recognized: 100-200 μm, 25-100 ≤ 25 μm. Microplastics found soft tissues all studied specimens but ratio pellets, fibers fragments. Generally, pellets most often registered particles, followed by irregularly-shaped fragments, whereas less numerous. dominant part isolated plastics are made polyethylene (PE), terephthalate (PET). Our results pointed out serious with plastic particles aquatory, which future may seriously affect health population also human health.
